Zoo Mazcota, located a few blocks up past the Pana market, provides what’s called a “Pet Passport” (Trámite de exportación de mascota). The person to see is Miguel De León Regil and he’ll get the correct paperwork and official stamps from Guatemala City in order to fly with your pet.

Dr. Estrada is probably the highest recommended vet at Lake Atitlán, and for good reason:

He genuinely cares about animals, he listens to the concerns of pet owners, always completes a thorough examination, and he takes his time to investigate the problem and solution. Many people know him for the volunteer work he does every week in the pet sterilization clinics around the lake and his work with Selaine at Ayuda Para la Salud de Perros y Gatos.

Dr. Estrada has an office in Sololá and he also makes house calls for an addition fee. He now has an office in Panajachel. He’s in Pana in the mornings and Solola in the afternoons.
